I read in the NYtimes some months back that if netflix were to stream just one percent of their hard copy rentals in terms of volume the total capacity of the internet would need to increase 10 fold! There are already major capacity issues with the internet and many experts don't even known if it's fixable in the short term.

I belong to Netflix but have not tried their streaming option yet. But I looked at the titles avaliable and there are a lot, including lots of gay interest films and old TV shows (I plan to watch the first few seasons of The Ofiice (Us version) to get caught up. I wish they'd add Queer as Folk.

I subscribed to them for their streaming option, only to cancel before even watching one film. They only work with internet explorer, and their selection was shit. Too bad mainstream cannot keep up with the porn industry in this regards, as if there was a selection, I would be all over it.

For now, the only option seems to be to stick with the stolen content, which sucks balls, and I think this will hurt the movie industry in the end. Where is the phone number for a movie executive when I need it?

they do only work with ie, but they're adding new selections every day. at the rate they're growing, they'll have a huge selection within the year, and they're certainly ahead of the competition.

and there are some issues - some movies and shows don't want to be licensed for viewing on the internet as they feel it will hurt DVD sales - which it probably will. also there are issues with the music or brands - they didn't license them for internet use, so some movies and shows can't be broadcast via internet, but that will be an issue for those videos/shows regardless of who wants to show them online.
