SO MUCH has freguently been owned by so few but I am addicted to TACO BELL!

On a side note has anyone seen "Born Rich" by Jamie Johnson of the Johnson and Johnson family? Turns out their slogan of "Johnson and Johnnson a Family Company" might not be quite accurate :snake:

well maybe this will kick us all in the butt and get us to modify our behavior by giving up our gas guzzling suv's and atv's and mobile homes and everything else that eats that crude...

we've seen prices around here spike over $4.00 a few days ago and I practically shit on the spot but its not as bad as a few miles up the road where they're getting over $5 a gallon for the liquid gold...

"GORDA, Calif.- Gas prices in California are at an all-time high. The statewide average price for a gallon of regular is now 58 cents more per gallon, than the same time last year.

But, there is one place on the Central Coast where you can expect to pay more than $5 a gallon. The Americo gas station in the tiny coastal town of Gorda, about 40 miles south of Big Sur, is selling gasoline for $5.19 a gallon for regular, and $5.39 for premium.

Despite high prices, the local gas stop grabs customers, without any competition. And according to locals, the pain at the pump isn’t over yet… as they plan to raise the prices another 20 cents in the coming weeks."

Prices have been higher then this for YEARS overseas. When I was in Australia I think it was twice as much as it is here currently. The U.S. has always gotten a huge break on gas prices, that's over now.

I just saw the price of diesel gsa at a Shell station here at $4:36
That was up from $3:89 in less that fore weeks.
If this is happening all over the US, then we are all screwed.

I'll correct that statement... We were yesterday. It may have since crested that .011.

Ah well. I just wished I lived a bit closer to town, so I could use the public transit... stops right in front of the office.

Here in Allentown Pennsylvania gas is $4.09 for unleaded.

Secondly, my boss... JJ has had his house up for sale for 78 days now. It's a nice 3 bedroom condo townhouse. It started at $192,000. He's been sitting on it for a while now and now it's been lowered to $189,900.
Fortunately, his house is in a 300 unit development. There were a total of 8 houses on the market at the begining of this month. Last week there were 4 closings in the same week. So now there are only 4 houses up for sale including JJ's.
So it appears to me the economy is not getting any better.

However, with all of that said I am happy to report that our DVD Sales are up 60%, and our memberships are up 30% (these figures are from last year).
So we are noticing a great profit margin here... it's just it's being lost at the gas pumps and lowering of the house sale price.

Yes we are doing good as well. But when times are hard bars and porn always pick up.
People are looking to escape all the shit thats going on.

Very well said! We actually came to that exact statement earlier in the week, I cannot recall who I was speaking with but we spoke about that. Glad someone agree's :cheekymonkey:

Rather than doom and gloom, it looks like we're finally going to cut our gasoline use nation wide. Even though I'll now be spending over $2000 a year on gasoline it doesn't yet make economic sense for me to trade in the Buick for a Prius and cut that in half. Hopefully I can squeak by in the Buick till they start rolling out electric cars with lithium ion car batteries. I think Nissan and some others are planning that. Screw plugin hybrids, I don't need a gas tank and a little engine taking up space I could be using for more batteries. Until then my fuel inefficiency will be exacerbating supply problems, keeping gas expensive, and forcing more new car buyers to decide against buying a truck. I do what I can.
