derekt, the stuff you're talking about is pay per view, but it's not downloadable DVDs. vivid and a couple other companies offer actual DVD downloads. you download a huge file and when you burn it via their directions, you get a DVD with fully functional menus as well as videos that are the same quality as if you had bought it at a video store. the download also includes the cover art and disk art for those who want the whole thing.
i'd LOVE to do this, but i'm not sure about the technology. imo this is a wonderful way to sell DVDs without inventory or postage costs and will sell to those who are too impatient to wait for their orders to arrive.
