New iPhone 3g version coming!

So I know youre not supposed to buy the first version of something because it could be buggy.
What happens if you buy the new 3g right away and its buggy? DO they give you a new one or fix it free or something?

I bought mine on day one and will upgrade to 3G the day it comes out.
As far as problems with the phone and how apple handles it, I took mine to the apple store and told them I thought the battery wasn't lasting as long as it used to. They handed me a new one. no questions asked.
