I am going to be on a panel, so I decided to go. I love that hotel, too.

I went to XBIZ last week. One day out of three.

i met with AEBN (although not my studio rep), and SugarDVD. It's nice to talk 1-1 to communicate differently than e-mail.

Otherwise, not much gay there, and 99% of he attendees were there to party - not to talk shop, which has to happen SOMETIME if this biz is to grow in this economy.

The one telling comment was that most of those I saw that day, won't be in the biz next year!

For those that go do you think staying at the hotel is a must or would it be worth it to stay off-site and save some bucks? I live in FL so I'd have my own car. $199 for a room seems pricey. I'm used to $99 rates or less at Best Western!

If you can drive there and back each day without worrying about a drunk driving charge, it is probably worth it to drive instead of stay at the hotel.

I was at the XBIZ show as well. It was a nice mix of party and business for me. I had several meetings set up before I even arrived and ran into more people that may become business relations. It was definitely unbalanced in the gay to straight ratio, but I rather enjoyed the opportunity to network with people who operate on the "other side of the coin". I got some nice ideas for our site from a completely new and noncompetitive perspective. I will be back next year.

The show is worth going to if you are a newbie and need to make contacts or you just want to have a good time partying and getting drunk.

Other than that I've never been able to justify the expense in terms of any new business or increase from existing customers/clients you will receive from attending. It's just a very expensive party.

As for the AVN seminars, unless something specific has happened in the industry then the seminars are just a rehash of the same of stuff every year.

Rooms are overpriced and most of the attendees are there to party.

    Just my two cents worth.
