PLEASE! bleeeeeeeeech.

The webmaster dinner I attended was called by DonMike, promoted here by DonMike, and I made my eservation with DonMike.

I had a wonderful time during it, and I have said so in public posts. I have described in some detail over the past year the great conversations with ArmPitLover, and DonMike (a great business partner), the fellow from Specialty Publications, Gary from CCBill (who I became a business client of days later), Deanb (whose site I since promote), Manifest Men (whose site I since promote) ... etc etc.

After the dinner was over, outside the restaurant, in front of a dozen or more people not connected to the dinner, there was an incident of slander that to this day defies any sense of reason.

For some reason, still unknown to me, Patti decided it was the right time and right place to ask me a business question. I did not feel being outdoors, outside of a restaurant, on a sidewalk, in front of a dozen or more strangers, was the time or place to discuss gay webmastering business.

I offered a vague "I don't see where I can describe what your asking in public, so I'll give you a vague throw away answer" at which point Patti shouted at the top of her lungs 'THAT'S ILLEGAL."

And after looking at five people closest to me with their jaws dropped to their knees, in stunned disbelief, I turned around and walked away as fast as possible.

Short of running.

nick's version of reality is very different from real reality. he has said to several people that i am such a bummer that i brought down and ruined the webmaster dinner he attended. it appears that nick is unaware that i am the person who has set up nearly all the webmaster lunches in l.a., and if people couldn't stand to be around me, they wouldn't have been at the one he attended since they would have already known what a bummer i was.

most people considered it the most successful l.a. webmaster event up to that time, judging by the large number of people who wanted to do it again and the huge amount of positive feedback around afterward from virtually everyone but nick and the epoch people, who i don't know well. i've had dinner or lunch with a bunch of the people who were there afterward, so while i was offended at nick's rudeness in talking about me, i wasn't particularly concerned.
