we both have good points.

You do actually, i only started this thread from the 'protect my business' angle but i can definitely see how in some instances cross-posting thread ideas could be a great help to the larger community.

I guess it comes down to WHY the thread was copied, to gain traffic or to spread information.

If its a topic that has a lot of replies that is copied, without or with relatively little 'business' information i tend to look at that as 'trying to build traffic' as oppose to 'sharing information' myself, especially when it is a vague topic that hardly anyone else would have thought about posting, such as that Craigslist missed connections thread as an example.
