I'd try to get assurance, assuming that the $600,000 number is high, that it has not already been supplied to the IRS, and that if it has, AEBN will document for you in writing that the 1099 is wrong and they have supplied you with a corrected one.
Otherwise, you could end up with the IRS getting TWO 1099s, one for a much larger amount, and you could end up with a bill for a huge discrepancy (along with penalties and so forth.)
This is one of those situations that isn't difficult to fix if handled correctly, but can easily be a nightmare if somebody drops a ball
