You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?
Do You Think That Gay Webmasters / Affiliates Are Still...
Looked at as a way to increase revenue by the majority of straight webmasters/program owners?
The past few weeks i have noticed that we have had a bunch of new predominantly straight webmasters and individuals joining the GWW Community and the one thing all of these people (for the most part) have in common when registering is that they all seem to be trying to 'sell' something, ad space, traffic, exclusive content, hosting services, etc, etc...
It seems to me few and far between that we get a primarily straight company or a rep posting on the GWW Community actually wanting to become a 'part' of the community over trying to make a quick sale.
Your thoughts, do you think we as a community (gay webmasters) are solely looked at by most of those businesses on the straight side of the industry as a way to boost thier revenue streams?
Regards,
Lee

I am not gay but I have slept with some guys who are
Yep. Mostly.
I figure it's better to have them here trying to vamp a little b2b action, than having them here trying to take our signups.

pr0n monster
Ah fuck, you totally found me out!
I think that goes with any sub-culture. Corporate America will come knocking on their door, and nine times out of ten they don't give two-tenths (yes, I know that's a reducible fraction) of a shit about that demographic's well-being.
They did it with "urban" culture and ran that into the ground, they're doing it with Goth and emo culture (Hot Topic is owned by The GAP!), and they're going to try to do it whenever possible with the gay community. Not all of them, mind, but most of them. Corporations as a rule don't have a ton of scruples (watch "The Corporation" if you get a chance, it's wacky) when it comes to profit. Michael Moore (personally i think he oft times over-states his case, but he does bring up valid points) has repeatedly remarked on how the types of companies he has attacked in his films are the first to step-up and market those films because they can make money off of it.
Okay, so went on a bit of a tangent, sorry

virgin by request ;)
i think it used to be like that, but now str8 porn marketing and methods are way more advanced than gay ones...perhaps because the gay dollar is still quite easy to get compared to the str8 one.
