Can you overuse the word "gay" in post?

The gay niche seems to be the last one I have done, and so far the hardest to figure out the lingo.

sunfunbill, kudos to you for coming here and talking to the people on this board. It's always good to know your subject matter and talking to people who know what's going on is much better than simply reading other blogs and copying what they do because how do you know if they are even doing it right.

One thing I would like to point out, Gay is not a niche. To have a list of niches and say you do big boobs, panties, crossdressers and gay is kind of like saying "I've been to Paris, Sydney, London and America". You can't really compare the city of London to the country of America because America is comprised of 50 different states, all with their own unique characteristics. There are several gay niches but gay, in and of itself, is not a niche.

Gay niches might include the terms Develish mentioned... Twinks, Bears, Chasers, Cubs. If you get into fetish there's a whole bunch of subgenres like Leather, Rubber, BDSM, Body Shaving, Watersports, Foot Fetish, and many many more.

And with my advice, I'd like to propose a question to the group, because this seems to fit in with what we're talking about here. I was just about to say "never use the term 'gays', as in 'hot gays having sex' or 'Here's a website the gays will love' " but I've noticed the term being used more and more lately, even on gay news programs and gay movies and tv shows. Has it become more acceptable these days? Maybe it's just me but I always prefer to hear "the gay community" or "gay people" rather than "the gays". What do you all think?

Hey there DonMike, I've seen your name before, maybe on cozy frog? Thanks for the tips. I think some "gay" words should be thrown in because you write both for the surfers as well as the SE.

I do well with the crossdresser/sissy/transvestite stuff, and I always stick one of those words a time or two in each post. Surfers know your trying to write for google and cut you some slack as long as your not overdoing it.

Indeed from the search terms I already have gotten hits with after only having my gay site out there a month, they use "gay" quite a lot as the first thing they type in looking for "gay bears" "gay blowjobs" and so on.

I just have to learn the right terms and get more at ease with it. Thanks again everyone for the tips.

OMG, I haven't been to cozy frog in years. Is it still around. Now there's a blast from the past. Heh heh. But yeah, that be me. I'm the only DonMike in the industry that I know of for the past eight or so years.

I think the real trick is to sound natural, and to think about how the words sound to you if you were the person reading them. Even by replacing "Gay" with "Straight" like Develish had done will show you if it comes out awkward or not. But you sound like you're on the right track. Best of luck.
