Thanks for the happy birthday email today, Lee and Gary. Finally I'm introducing myself on this site. While I've been researching how to become a webmaster in the gay adult industry, designing and preparing my websites for some time, I'm definitely a "newbie." For many reasons, I want and need this as my income, and to do it carefully with my feet on the ground. I've been shy to chat or comment so far because, well, what do I know compared to most everyone on this site. But Lee has encouraged me, and I appreciate it.
I wrote too much already, but here's a little about how I came to pursue this.
I'm known as a painter, primarily landscape. (Not sure if it's in the rules to put the URL of my own website of paintings here, but if interested, you can google my name: Timothy Arzt.) Art has been and is who I am and how I think. I'm proud of what I achieved, but really I have to move on. It's no living even for many "famous" artists. Went bankrupt, can't fit into a 9-5 job for various reasons, have to do something and now. No desire to paint anymore, but websites DO hold my interest, where I can work with images, design, and even write a little, and not have to worry about making "masterpieces." I see it as a branch of the same creative tree.
I used to teach figure drawing (college) many years ago, and as nutty as it sounds, here I am working with pics and videos of guys again. Kind of interesting that the state gov. paid me to show people how to draw every part of a naked model, and provided nude models for my students to closely stare at and get college credit for. Difficult and time-consuming courses. Each class was 3 hours. I could even discuss erotic elements as it related to art, because it does sometimes and has throughout history. Maybe someday you can learn how to be an adult webmaster or entertainer in college. HA! Not sure if academia has helped or hurt the arts, though. Probably both.
I'm not into photographing erotica at this point because there's plenty of outstanding work out there done with resources I don't have. My hands full just setting my sites up as an affiliate. It's actually a pleasure to promote what people (companies) are doing.
Thanks for those who patiently dealt with this long post. Like the title says, it's good to be here on gaywidewebmasters.
