oh jeez - this is april fools day, right?

I think that some of the people who have posted should take a long hard look at some of the statements you have posted and well, go take some modesty pills and check back tomorrow...

    sheeshhh!

I love all this uncomfirmable bragging and boasting - numbers that get pulled out of hats...

this industry is full of this type of here say... show me real numbers guys

its the industry of make believe and fantasy - you know, we use the same crews, the same replicators and the same printers so.... guess what... I think we're all pretty much in tune with reality and I'm not seeing that reflected in some of these statements

I am so sick of Titan dinosaurs posting on boards like you're still the kings of Gay porn, you are not. You guys only post on boards when it suits you, you are not a part of our community. You only play in your own click and shut everyone else out. Titan posts always consist of your people bragging about how big you are and who've you've sued lately. get over it

I never personally experienced first hand where Titan was coming from until I got a message on another board from Keith telling me that I couldn't get details about your "anti piracy group" because you are only working with the "largest producers and VOD distributors" ... obviously your click. I don't believe for one second that you'll open up your group for any little guy that wants to join.

You don't give a shit about the little guys so don't post on our boards and give us the advice to stay out of your DVD market. You can't have it both ways. You can't play the elite game and post on the little guys boards without working with the little guys.

I'm motivated now to get into the DVD market just to go against your crap warning and show that a good profit can be made.
Wow, that was certainly uncalled for...but it’s certainly your right. I wasn't trying to brag, I was simply refuting some statements that were not true when it came to our business. Everyone’s business is different and unique. I was hoping others might be able to learn something from our experiences.

If I were a new brand these days I would focus on building my digital and membership sales and not waste my resources on packaged media. That is my honest opinion based on years of successfully running an adult business. That’s all, it’s my opinion. LOL, I am not trying to keep others out of the packaged media business! I was trying to give my honest opinion. You can take or leave it, but you don't need to get bitchy and go into attack mode.

If I were a car company I wouldn’t tell another new car company to get into the traditional gas fueled car market at this time. I’d advise them to skip over that entirely and focus on building hybrid or electric cars. Is there still years of money and sales of gas fueled car left, absolutely! Is it a good business decision to try and get into that market at this time, hell no. Same thing with DVD, its old technology and is going away and the barrier to entry into the existing market is too expensive and competitive. Again, that’s just my opinion…

You want the solution to piracy, you’ve got it….get a lawyer! There is no magic secret or not allowing you into our secret organization. Get a lawyer, send take down notices and sue people stealing your content….that’s it. Now you have the magic secret and you can do it yourself. You are more than welcome to head your own group and get other companies and studios to work with you on anti-piracy project. In fact I encourage you to be the leader and spearhead just such a group.

We were the “little” guys once as well, so don’t go off on me just because you are frustrated. When we got into the business Falcon had us blocked and banned from all the major distributors. Falcon and all the other big guys never helped us, hell they did all they could to block us and thwart our business. So, trust me I know what it’s like being the little guy. It’s easy to bash the “big” guys, but you might learn a thing or two from them if you listen carefully and don’t take things so personally. Lighten up….

I just got a design contract to create box covers for 50 new DVD titles asap. Usually the client only orders 10 at a time.

I was a bit harsh in my original post to you, though I'm not in attack mode.

I got it, get a lawyer to stop piracy or start my own group. You have no obligation to include others but let's be honest here and say that you're here posting for bravado and company image. Your concept of being part of our online community seems to be posting about how you're making more money, how you have markets cornered and your elite anti piracy group.

You might be a bunch of really great guys, I've never worked with you, but from my online perspective your posts always seem to be gloating about things you're doing which none of us can be a part of.

Back on topic it's evident that there is a lot of money to be made in the DVD market still and it's a resource for revenue that shouldn't be ignored. Whether it's on it's way out or not, if there's money to be made, that's added revenue from my content that I want a piece of.

I apologize if my comments come off as bravado or bragging, that is not my intent. I have tendency to be very direct and it sometimes comes off a bit too strong, especially in text based communication. I was not trying to brag or boast, just giving a perspective from our angle.

Heck, if you want to jump into the DVD market and see potential revenue then go for it. I was not trying to keep people out of that market!

if it didn't, the technology and equipment producers wouldn't have yet another way to deliver Gone With the Wind to your living room...

let's see... in how many various formats have I bought my favorite titles...

the entire world marketing system in a nutshell guys... Tony's world economy crash course 101
