Yup, you can put storkes around fonts anywhere from 1px on up

Yea, it's basically a one pixel wide "border" of another contrasting color ... you can also draw a table over the image that has a clear center with a border color that sits slightly inside the overall picture area - either a rectangle, or a rounded corner rectangle. Easy to do in a program like Fireworks.

Or, just go into your typing layer, double click, then click on styles and play with the text effects.

Do you find that a little flashing "Click Here" really works?

i've never really checked into it, but I'm not sure that would make much of a difference.

If you're gonna do the animation thing, would it not make sense to do something really dramatic and eye catching?

Some people are kinda slow :wacko: , or maybe just new :baby: to the net.
I find that putting a small ani, or somthing that's flashing does help...then they know where or what to click on.
Somtimes just say CLICK HERE works fine too...though I think that even that can be missed.
Doesn't hurt to have some things move (too much is not good though)...just a guide to the new surfers.

I had read some articles about making banners I remember that surfers do click more on banners that calling on some action (in this case action is click)

I never knew it was that easy to put a stroke (of any shade)
around text...

is that around ANY font ??
or just the standard ones ??

are the fonts already IN the graphics program ??

or are those things a designer would have elsewhere and
pull into the design ??

are you able to import whatever font you want into your
graphics program and get it to work - for example
in putting a stroke around a new font that you find that you like ??

is there a limit to how many fonts a graphics program
can hold on the ready ??

That is any font, and it's really as easy as 1 or 2 clicks (if you pick a color too), and if you are using windows you can access any font in your font list, complete with a sample next to it incase you cant remember exactly what it looks like. Some good progs even show you how it will look instantly, before you "apply" it.

Yes, any font
You can add as many fonts as you like (we're talking photoshope right)

I have 100's of fonts and just add what I like when I find a new one.
All I do is double click on the text layer, then either just do the stroke command, or go use the "styles" and play.

Good programs do utilize every font you put in your font folder- the thing to watch though is getting crazy about loading up that folder with literally hundreds of fonts, as those all have to preload when you boot up your system ... talk about megga lagtime til you see your desktop! LOL

Ok here is what I did so far. I accidently saved it as .gif the first time so I can't edit individual things like the fonts without starting over *hmph* but I think this is a little better:

Yeah i agree... the "beach Booty" has to go so it can be read better. Plus not sure about the pink.
As for the pictures... play with the contrast to make it more bright and wet and sexy.
