You are using a lot of resource intensive programs right there. I prefer Chrome over any other browser but it sure does eat up a lot of RAM. I also love Safari but for some reasons I cannot do certain things on the sites I love most with it so I do not run it as much as I would like. I gave up on IE a long time ago.
firefox is still my main browser but i've gone somewhat back to IE since IE7 and IE8 especially as firefox has started to crash for me so often now.

it also doesn't behave well past 800MB, and now IE has all tabs as separate processes

i have the tendency to read a site and click links into new tabs so I end up with gajillion tabs...

I tried Chrome but the tabs way up on top felt odd and it wasn't compatible with Win7 when I tried it

I leave things running, never shut my machine, so it's there when I need it. Think I'll be adding another 4 or 8GB ram soon
