Which is a fancy way of saying that random distributions sometimes have clumps, which can result in suddenly getting a batch of signups, then suddenly not getting any for a while.

Personally, even tho it's superstition, I never mention a cluster of signups, because it's inevitably seems to be followed by a period of no signups if I mention it. Rationally, I know it's a perception distortion, but still, why tempt fate by saying "hey just got 5 signups quick'. Even tho it's just a perception distortion, one still feels as if the universe is out to get you - because that's how the brain works, it instinctively seeks patterns and assigns motivations.

The recession may be over for the bankers taking their bailout bonuses, but it's not over for the ordinary folks.

And ordinary folks have to be more careful about using the credit card.
