Speaking of which, I read a Popular Science mag a few months back that focused on all the ecological inventions being tested right now, its amazing some of the stuff that was featured.
One invention was a new type of road pavement that was able to collect solar energy. They were saying that in a WalMart parking lot, even when the lot was full, it produced 10x the power needed to run the store, so that would let them offer electric car charging for free! They have it so that its only 3X as expensive as regular pavement, but it lasts 3X as long and of course provides free power. The company is being funded by gov't groups that are trying to reduce USA reliance on foreign energy (mainly oil), so this solution could actually become a reality very quickly. By rolling this out to parking lots across the USA, it would instantly replace a massive amount of non-green power consumption with clean, renewable solar energy.
So there is hope :high:
