You suggested they check out Adult Legal but linked to Porn2Go. I questioned that because even though Lee says they are the same company, I don't believe they are. I know Jim from AdultLegal.com and they are based in a different state than the company that owns Porn2Go. Maybe they have similar names but I thought it was odd that you didn't just say Porn2Go if that's where you were linking, or else linked to http://www.adultlegal.com instead.Originally posted by Rainbo1956
Why? Is this a problem for you?
Someone asks about a "good" dvd quality video program, so I send them to a good place...you have a problem with that with that??????
My comment about the ref code was because most of us just link to the site we're recommending since we're all webmasters here and we help each other out. I dont' think we need to try to make money off of each other. Posting links with affiliate codes in them is something that we might do if we were posting a link for surfers but not fellow webmasters. That's just my opinion and I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it. Maybe the others don't agree with me on that issue.
Not sure about your profanity though because it looks like I struck a nerve for one thing, and you just showed everyone how unprofessional you are for the second.
First let me apologize …yes, I did get a little too tee’d off.
Yes it did hit a nerve. And, for my negative reaction, I do apologize.
Though, I’m not sorry for my opinion about it.
It’s actually my sister’s id. I was only trying to help her out.
(She’s been having a bit of bad luck with some of the programs/webmasters not paying and such.)
So, when I read the question, I projected negatively.
However, I think I projected correctly…
I had a feeling that you were going to go there -quote- ” most of us just link to the site we're recommending since we're all webmasters here and we help each other out. I dont' think we need to try to make money off of each other” -end quote-
But, I think we do make money off one another, and we do all the time. We join one another’s programs, many people have webmaster referral programs. We trade links, share info and are all in the biz to make money. Making money for referring someone to a good deal, program or whatever is fine as far as I can see, as long as it doesn’t hurt the person you’re referring, or as long as they don’t get screwed.
I wish I had simply said everything the way I said it above, instead of getting indignant…
I had a bad day and pushed it off on you…sorry!
Hammer i beleive the companies (Porn2Go's) full name is Adult Legal Porn 2 Go

Lee
why do you think so? adultlegal's main page doesn't reflect this:
http://www.adultlegal.com/cgi-bin/sh...ge=scmain/home
Whois info Patti
Plus when they launched i remember there being a whole marketing thing about it too

Lee
owning Porn2Go doesn't make them porn2go - it makes Porn2Go one of their websites. just like dilf isn't uncutguys, ya know?
Wasnt that what i said originally?Originally posted by basschick

RE: affiliate codes on webmaster boards
If I'm responding to a request for something - ie: hosting, content, gay sponsor programs, etc, and I'm an affiliate and sending you to a webmaster content page, I will include my code in the link. If I'm asking for such things, I'd certainly want to try and help out the guy that helped me with the link in the first place. Just my 2cents.

Makes no sense to me, but I'll talk to Jim at AdultLegal.com tomorrow and find out for sure.
Like I said before, I knew there would be differing opinions on the ref code issue, but in my opinion if I'm posting a link to a site that isn't my own, to help a friend, I don't use my affiliate code so they have to pay me for doing it. All I really want in return is to know that the people I help will do the same for me sometime.
Scenario. Your friend calls you up and says "I've got to get to the airport right away and my damn car won't start, can you help me out?"
Would you make them pay for the gas?
i really dont mind if someone post his referral code together with the answer.. i would be glad to sign up under him.
When I've been flat ass broke, yea, I'll mention I need the gas money to get you to the airport.Scenario. Your friend calls you up and says "I've got to get to the airport right away and my damn car won't start, can you help me out?" Would you make them pay for the gas?
While I understand your scenario, it doesn't quite fit what goes on here ... what you are overlooking perhaps is the other 50-200+ viewers that can read a posted answer today, tomorrow, or months from now that just climbed into the trunk of the car. This is a business, and success in it means utilizing every option available.
As do I...Originally posted by Chilihost
