With this day and age, you cannot stop marketing. You just can't. a month ago, our membership sales were over the top. Best we've ever done in company history. Then we had to head out to california for a week to locate a house. During that time there was no marketing, no nothing. Sales dropped instantly and we still haven't recovered and aren't close to what we made then.
Unfortunately, we're going to be shut down for another week starting next Friday for the full move. That's going to kill us even more.
Market, market, market!
Our biggest mistake ever was by relying on our studio VOD accounts. That eventually brought fear into our eyes as we seen companies going out of business left, right, and sideways. DONT RELY ON ANYONE ELSE TO EARN YOU MONEY EXCEPT YOURSELF. Such as VOD, we rely on them to pay our bills. We are stopping that. We want VOD to bring in just a small piece of the pie.
With that said, you must fend for yourself. If you don't, my rough guess is that you risk failing.
MARKET, MARKET, MARKET. Nick, I know you have small sites, your not a big producer, etc. but you have a great product.
Create a business facebook page for just you, then you can create a facebook business account which is essentially like your own facebook page. Create a twitter account, create a myspace account. Market your guys through those.
Use goo.gl for your linking. It will help attract google to you.
Use youtube to your benefit.
I know you have some yahoo groups, keep those updated.
One thing we've found that really helps is create sub-domains or a directory on your sites to promote your most filmed guys, and your most popular niches. This will help you too.
Blogging. Start a blog on your site. For example:
blog.dudelodge.com
blog.triangledream.com
Install wordpress, create a nice theme, make it pretty but sexual.
Updates are key on blogging. In 1-2 days, I'd do 20 posts. But be as descriptive as you can. Explain the model(s), their acts, what they're doing, why it's so hot, what do they look like? Your essentially wanting to write to someone who is blind.
Trade links with anyone and everyone. Hit the boards and tell them you want to trade links. Linkspun.com has really helped us.
Follow those, and it will treat you well. Do 1 update a day on all of those. Even if it's you saying what you did today. Or telling them, "Hey, just wanted to tell you I'm taking a shower right now." Not anything like that, but I hope you get the picture.
SELL YOUR PRODUCT! MARKET YOUR PRODUCT! MAKE THE WORLD KNOW ABOUT YOUR PRODUCT! That will really bring you to the top.
Trust me, I know. We do that. But don't stop updating unless you absolutely have to - such as in our case. We're driving through 4 days of no internet. We can't. We'll update twitter and facebook through our phones. But that's all we're capable of. We're pulling out the 27th, arriving in Palm Springs on the 1st. We won't have internet until the 3rd.
