found this online today, I though it was very clever about showing how Hollywood is constantly wrong in their overreactions to change & technology.

Louis Le Prince filmed moving picture sequences on paper using a camera he'd made, in October 1888 in Leeds.

People won't care about this until it affects them and their income, business, lifestyle... Just look at all the shit passing in the EU right now. Strange coincidence that just as the USA is trying to pass PIPA/SOPA the EU have all signed up and are rushing through their own censorship laws with the same blueprint.
People who think this is all about IP and piracy are retards. We have never before seen such a concerted effort by so many governments all over the world to try to enforce controls on the Internet, and it's absolutely no coincidence that this is all happening as the crowds of protesters increase while economies continue to collapse.
Remember that old saying? "People should not fear their government. The government should fear their people".
This is happening right now. They are running scared, and they know that they HAVE to have censorship in place like Iran, China and India to stop the world from seeing the action they will take against protesters on their own streets.
We've seen some remarkable protests in the last two years, with the fall of several governments. And that was without the failure of any currency. Imagine what the protests will be like when the € fails, which most intelligent independent economists now agree is inevitable.

We have plenty here who are happy to appear on the BBC and lie to the public while justifying it as building "confidence". In reality, they're lying to continue the game. They pass it off as a professional tactic to encourage continued trade and potential growth, but they are lying.
You can guarantee that whatever country you're in, the economists appearing on your news and telling you "the government is making progress" or "growth was worse than anticipated, but..." are being paid by bankers, are paid by government, or have interests that they are defending.
We just need to look at history to know the reality of our current situation. The debt level before the great depression was a fraction of what it is now, for all nations involved. We had our own diverse industrial base, covering everything from agriculture to heavy industry. We didn't have personal debts, massive mortgages or credit cards. We didn't import the millions of tonnes of necessities as we do now. Global financial markets were not so intertwined. Your local shop didn't rely on ten other companies and suppliers to fill their shelves...
Everyone out there has their own interests, that's why I trust my own instincts and our recorded history far more than I trust some guy in a suit - especially guys who seem to think they know how to fix it, but never saw it coming.
