I've actually been doing very good about not loading up on domains every month, and have actually let a bunch expire over the past year or so. I'm down to like 140, with less than 50 that still aren't live with some sort of sales content. Seriously, stop and think if you have the time to develop that tempting domain name within a week of purchasing it. If not, pass on it. More domains are always expiring and you can usually find a nice one for any niche.

Well I picked up one 99 cent domain from GD yesterday and as I said, whenever I start thinking about domains to buy I usually come up with a bunch of others I like, but I showed some restraint this time and only bought two more... but from NameCheap, not GD. Back during the SOPA thing I had decided to switch all my domains over to Namecheap since I didn't like the way GD handled that situation. But what can I say... when GD offers these cutrate deals I cave and end up giving them more business. I'm so ashamed.
By the way, the 99 cent offer expires after 10,000 domains are sold or June 15th, whichever comes first.
And Bec, you're right about the reason for buying a domain. Now I only buy names for unique niches I have an interest in and know I can write at least 20 or 30 posts to get it going.
