Buying Ad Space
A couple of years ago, I bought an ad on a blog, and I noticed an uptick in DVD sales.
In the time between then and now, there's all sorts of concerns about hardlinks and such, and Google ranking.
My biggest traffic generator is Twitter. Followed by FaceBook.
What are the things to look out for these days, with buying ads, links, pop ups, pop unders, etc, as each affects SEO?
Which are the best to try? Other than Twitter and FaceBooks?

Nick,
Over the last couple of months I've been spending some time on Facebook and it has been surprisingly easy which is great. Within just over a month I have about 5,000 page likes and 4,800 friends (plus 750 followers) and it is generating traffic.
I don't use Twitter personally and I haven't played with it much at all. Is your twitter traffic just from tweeting about your site? How many followers do you have?
