If you were a plant, what type of plant would you be and why?

a mangrove tree. they're so neat. trees growing in the water like that. and they're so creepy looking. especially if they have Spanish moss growing on them.
even though they're always found in tropical weather you figure they always stay cool cuz they're havin in water. 8)

Impressive, one of my other skills is that I am also a qualified horticulturalist. Hence the question. I believe that this question generally characterises people quite well.

The personality traits I associate with mangroves are adaptability, regneration and success despite hardship. Cool Choice.

wow, this thread rocks brian! good idea. tough part for me now is coming up with determining what line of questioning to go with (personal, professional, sexual etc...) and then finding questions that haven't been asked. ok here goes:

have you ever been inside a pyramid?

i always wanted a brother but never got one...are you close with yours?

are you spiritual? religious? do you make that distinction?

what's your favorite baskin robin's flavor?

if you could have one superpower what would it be and why?

guess that's enough for now...maybe i'll think of more and come back later

have you ever been inside a pyramid?
hehe yup. several times. they're really stuffy in there. and the magic is lost among the lines of tourists. but it's still pretty neat.
i always wanted a brother but never got one...are you close with yours?
recently more than before. we seem to talk to eachother now more than we ever did while living under the same roof! growing up they were more like friends I lived with than brothers. but we've bonded more in recent years.
are you spiritual? religious? do you make that distinction?
I believe there's something out there but don't feel it's up to me nor that it really matters to try and figure out what it is. I guess my spirituality entails a belief in there being something out there that none of us could ever figure out or understand.
what's your favorite baskin robin's flavor?
mint chocolate chip. but I prefer Ben N Jerrys to B&R
if you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
the ability to pause all time while I kept moving and conscious. that'd kick ass. I could pause the world and take a nap then wake up all refreshed and no one would be the wiser. I could pause the world when I saw a hot guy and see what he looked like naked haha.

I think Jasun's is his avatar. And I am curious what DigitalJay looks like. And Jake from the Cybersocket website:

    a) favorite meal for - breakfast, lunch, dinner ??
breakfast - coffee and a cigarette
lunch - El Pollo Loco (a Mexican fast food place out here) is damn good.
dinner - thai omelette with spicy thai curry
    b) favorite desert ??
there's this Girl Scout Cookie Thin Mint Chocolate flavored. It's sooooo good. I suggest you all try it ASAP.
    c) can you cook ?? if so - what do you do best ??
I can. I've been told my meatloaf is divine 8) As with my garlic mashed potatos. and I make some killer pastas.
    d) what toppings do you like on your pizza ??
pepperoni, green pepper, mushroom, onion, Tabasco sauce, and parmesan cheese
    e) what's the most unusual thing you've ever eatten ?? was it good ?? under what circumstances did it come about that you were
presented the opportunity to consume this unusual item ??

When I lived in Ecuador I spent some time in the Amazon rainforest camping, hiking, and traveling up and down the Amazon tributaries. In a village down there I had a drink called "chicha".
Essentially it's an alcoholic maize drink. It's made with human spit. These days more modern forms of chicha don't use spit, but in the old days it was all spit. and this village still did it the old way. The women of the village would chew the grain and then spit the chewed out grain in to a big vat. The enzymes in human saliva would help it ferment. Then you'd add water and drink it! Tastes like sour milk.

I used to eat bugs a lot in Saudi Arabia. We'd get shipments of breakfast cereal from the US. But in transit on cargo ships and in warehouses in the desert, weevils (sp?) would get in to the cereal. They're like little beetle type things. And so when you'd pour yourself the cereal there would be dozens of these bugs in it just crawling around. And we'd just eat it. Didn't even really think anything of it. We'd keep our cereal in the freezer and so it would freeze up the weevils and then when you'd pour yourself a bowl you'd have to eat it fast before they had a chance to thaw out and get all restless. when frozen they were all still and immobile - tho still alive - and so they might as well have been green clovers and yellow moons. But it was all I knew, growing up with weevils in my Lucky Charms.
In fact when I moved to the US when I was 8 years old and had my first bowl of cereal without weevils in it, I thought there was something wrong with the cereal and complained to my parents that someone had taken the bugs out.
I've also had snake, eel, monkey, camel, more bugs, piranha, cow eyeballs, guinea pig, and spider.

    5. what would the perfect first date be like for you ??
I'm such a homebody. Watching some really cheesy old horror flick that makes you laugh more than it makes ya scared - but still manages to scare ya from time to time - would be great. Cuddled under the covers. Then we'd go bowling. I love bowling 8) And it'd have to then also involve something completely random and unexpected. Like the time I went out for coffee with this guy and we ended up spur of the moment driving down to Mexico to get tacos. Lots of awesome conversation, sustained eye contact, flirting, making fun of and laughing at one another, then a lil kiss at the end of the night and a call back to do it all again a few days later.

    6. shower or bath ??
Shower. On the rare occasion I take a bath I have to shower first. Otherwise you're just bathing in your own filth =/
    7. boxers, briefs or other ??
    boxerbriefs. WalMart. $5/3pack
    8. would you shave your twink lover or expect him to do it himself ??
You mean his naughty bits? . He could trim but shaving ain't a requirement. Fully shaved is a bit odd. It's bad enough I like twinks, I don't need them looking 10 years old.
    9. any tattoos or piercings - or other body markings ?? if so, what,
where, why, when ?? do you want to have any of these done ??
if so, what and where (on your body) ??

None. I had my ears pierced awhile back but had to take em out for a job. Had my eyebrow pierced awhile back but it fell out and I never got it re-pierced. No tattoos. I've yet to find or come up with something I want on my body for life, much less where I'd want it.
    10. how many languages do you speak ?? which ones ?? and degree of
fluency ?? are there any languages you'd like to learn and will
you put any time or effort into learning them within the next 3 years ??

English, Spanish, French, Arabic. Gradually forgetting French and Arabic as I never use them. Oddly enough I was at a thai restaurant having lunch a few weeks ago, though, and a guy came up to me outta the blue and started talking to me in Arabic. For no reason. And though I'd thought I'd forgotten most of it, I knew exactly what he was saying and responded to him in Arabic. He and I were both surprised. Then he wandered off. It was extremely random.
    11. if you were requried to perform some sort of community service
in your locale - what would you do and why ??

Something to help out at-risk and troubled youth. As I was one for a long while.
    12. what frightens you ?? do you have any phobias ??
I used to be deathly afraid of heights but all of a sudden that just went away one day. I found myself in a situation that normally would terrify me not bothered by it one bit. And thought "Wierd... guess I'm no longer afraid of heights."
    13. what's your happiest memory for the following ages in your life:
from birth to age 6, from age 7-11, from age 12-15, from age 16-19,
from age 20 to present ?? - - - what is your DOB by the way ??

birth - 6: In Saudi Arabia we lived in this remote oil town in the middle of a desert. They'd just completed building a new housing area - a brand new neighborhood were they were going to ship new oil company families in to. But all of the homes were unoccupied. So all of the kids in town bought tons of waterballons from the local commissary and we had a huuuuuuuuuge water balloon fight. All the houses had their water on, so we ran from house to house filling up balloons and having a huge war. Street to street and house to house water balloon battles. It was insane. We practically had a town to ourselves. It was like the world belonged to us kids.
7-11: I played pee wee football in 4th and 5th grades. I was O and D line so never carried the ball. But I also played special teams and one time the other teams kicker shanked the kick off and it came right to me. It'd been the first time I'd ever even touched the ball in a game. It bounced right to me and I ran straight for their endzone and scored. 8)
12-15: first time I caught a wave while surfing. I'd tried for days, hours a day. And always ate shit before managing to stand up. My dad has a "let 'em learn the hard way" approach to child rearing. So I'm out in the surf getting pummelled by wave after wave thinking I'm gonna drown and he's just sitting out there on his board yelling at me "If you quit falling down, you'd quit almost drowning!" . Lo and behold I go after one, feel the wave pick up the board from underneath, pop up, stand up, drop in, ride it to the beach. All the way in til the board was sitting in the sand. Hootin' and hollaring the whole way. It was great.
16-19: these were the best years of my life. I can't imagine picking one moment outta em. The friends I had during this time are still my closest friends to this day.
20-present: My last spring break trip to Mexico with my fraternity brothers during college was probably one of the most fun things I'd ever done. Even with the arrest and the night I spent in a Mexican jail. haha.
    May 17 is my bday
    14. do you believe in astrology ?? do you read your horoscope ??
what is your zodiac sign ??

I don't, but I read it for shits and giggles. I'm a Taurus.

    15. have I worn you out yet ??
    you're a tough one!!

    1. What 5 songs do you think would best define you as a person?
    hrm...
    Radiohead - Paranoid Android
Pixies - Where is my Mind
    Morrissey - Lazy Sunbathers
Nada Surf - Inside of Love
    REM - Daysleeper
    2. Can you ride a motorcycle?
I can. I have. But I don't regularly do it.
    3. If you were a character on the Simpsons, what would your name be and what would you do?
I think "Brian" would be a cool Simpsons name. Cuz as Springfield's resident gay guy I'd have to have a stereotypically gay name. And I know a bazillion gay Brians. I'd work as an assistant in the comic book shop with that loser comic book geek guy. And we'd talk about computers and Lord of the Rings all day. I'd also occasionally be heard in the background during episodes making a very gay "WOOHOO!" sound. And everyone in town would know I was gay except for Homer, who'd be completely clueless to the fact , causing much hilarity to ensue. And Otto the bus driver would always try and avoid me because of a little experimentation we'd done together once while he was in a drunken black out.
    4. Buffy or Sex and the City?
I've never seen an episode of either
    5. What is the boldest thing you've ever done sexually?
The first time I had sex I practically through myself on to a friend I didn't know was gay and wasn't sure would be interested. Thankfully he was. So it was grand. But that was pretty ballsy I must say as he very well coulda been totally straight and freaked the hell out. Ballsy and stupid.

Why are you so chatty on the boards but kind of shy in person?

Once I really get to know someone I'm anything but shy, and tend to talk their ear off and always make smartass comments and joke around a lot.
But until then, I'm pretty reserved and quiet.
I've always figured there's less at stake online, though, and the internet itself gives insulation. So I do whatever on here. hehe.

And you can have Jake. Just take him to get his oil changed every 3000 miles!!!
