I’ve heard this question for a lot of years. And the same answer is true… there will always be someone somewhere who wants what you’re selling.

The way to work around of the free porn issues is to build sites that are different. Offering exclusive content. Offering something different – something/content that isn’t seen everywhere.

There are enough people in the world and online that there will always be someone wanting to join a site, buy a sex toy and watch your exclusive video.

If the conversion of our own sites are any indication… the markets may be thinner in recent years than in the past gluts of the late 90’s, but the market is still very much there. Instead of having one free site that make $5K you need 20 sites that will make that (not real numbers here). Pay site owners work with exclusive content more than mass bags of pics, now.

Does free porn hurt conversions? Yes. But will it work against us every time? No. It just requires the serious business people in this industry to be creative, work the markets they have chosen and to stay one step ahead of the trends.

In the past I’ve heard people say that they believed a lot of what’s out there would simply disappear over time. And to an extent that has happened, but for everyone one free porn Webmaster that has disappeared three take their place. So it’s something that isn’t going to go away.

Also, as I mentioned in Michael’s thread about the industry, we’re seeing groups of people/companies coming together to work with each other more and more - putting the collective thinking cap on and working around a lot of the things we’re up against, like too much free porn. I see this trend growing more and more - working with a select group of people and selling within the group’s traffic streams. Is this the future? I think it’s a big part of it.

But when it comes to the amount of free porn out there, my usual thought isn’t where it is going to take us but how do we get around it. Sex will always sell. And it’s what you have to offer, and how you present it, that is going to make the difference.

My two cents for the fountain
