'A Beautiful Thing' and 'Get Real' are my favorite coming of age type movies. - of course both of these are UK movies not US Based.

Three of my most recent favorites is 'Latter Days' and 'Unconditional Love' and 'the Dreamers'. Other favorites are - 'The adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert', 'The Laramie Project' was a tear jerker, 'the Trip' and 'Rites of Passage'.

If you're looking for a real screwed up movie - pick up 'The Hanging Garden' or 'Lilies'. I love my netflix account
