That bill has as much of a chance of making it to second reading as I do of marrying Whoppi Goldberg.
It's just the Christianazis out west... there's about 156 of them. They elect a few membes of Parliament, but they never get taken seriously, and none of their private member's bills go anywhere. He knows the bill won't make it to second reading, but he's tableing it for votes from his base.. and nothing else.
We now have gay marraige in 6 Provinces and Yukon Territory, with Newfoundland and Nova Scotia not far behind. The federal Government isn't contesting any of the decisions, and is going to put their own bill forward next year.
And Gay Marraige has the support of the vast majority of Canadians, so it's a done deal.
There's always gonna be some jackass out west with a bee in his bonnet. That's where we keep the jackasses, bonnets and bees.
