Banners, that is.
What size banners do you prefer your sponsors offer you?
Not only in pixels, but in kb.
Or do you even care about that, and as long as they fit and look good, Kb doesn't matter?
And how about Flash banners?
Do you care?

you are such a fag
I like the really odd sized ones. Yes, kb does matter because usually you want to save as much of your allowed "load time" for your design as you can, not ads. People seem more or less desensitized to 468x60s now.
Flash banners can be great, if well made. There are still quite a few cool things that could be done with them that haven't been overdone yet.
I'm always wondering why those corny gimmick flash banners haven't creeped over into adult, like the "shoot the duck" one. Why not a floating dildo you stick up the hottest ass, or "which one is the real virgin", or a floating hand that can pull down a models underwear, rub it over a guys crotch and watch him get hard, etc. I bet even a tiny bit of interactivity on an adult banner could boost clickthrus.
I still use a lot of 468 x 60 banners in my inside gallery pages. I also like some towers that are around 140 or 160 pixels wide and anywhere from 300 to 600 pixels wide. I have a lot of "free" space under nav bars and stuff, and these are perfect.
I don't mind Flash.

Isn't it true that flash banners on iMAC's are not displayed correctly? (in the place on the page it should be located).
At least that has been my experience in the past. Is there a way to make them absolute as with other objects?

What is iMAC's? I've never heard of it. Is it like an Ipod or something?Originally Posted by GLBTcity
I like portrait sized banners about 150x225 to 200x300. File size is not important.
ARS used to have some really elaborate Flash ads like that. They were actually very cool... to bad their sites were so bad.Originally Posted by DigitalJay
I mostly use banners that are 130x640, 500x300, 130x50, 460x80, and 460x60. It depends on what I’m working on, but I have also used 200x400, 200x300, 120x160, and 120x60.
I don’t really like Flash banners that much. I like to right click on a banner and open it in a new window. Plus in FireFox they sometimes come out very small, or prompt you to spend time looking for a plug in. (There isn’t a shockwave plug in yet for FireFox that I’ve found.) From what I understand, the new Norton’s can block normal sized banner ads now. So it would be good for programs to start making ads a few pixels larger or smaller then normal.
You'll get more with a kind word and a 2 by 4 then you'll get with just a kind word.
Stunner Media Presents 8 great programs:
IndieBucks | StandAhead | BoyCrushCash | Phoenixxx | <a href="http://hunkmoney.com/">Hunk Money</a> | <a href="http://nats.britishbucks.com/">British Bucks</a> | <a href="http://nats4.emoprofits.com/">Emo Profits</a> | <a href="http://latinobucks.com/">Latino Bucks</a>
We tend to use 468x60 or 120x60 more than anything else.
Some 125x125 would also be good though
Filesize, any where under 18k is ideal for animated gifs IMHO

wow, so the picture quality on them would suck then, right?
You have any samples I can look at?
I'm doing the first round of banners for Fratmen, and although I love what I'm coming up with, they're probably way too big to actually be used anywhere.

i like banners 468x60 or 468x80, and up to 26k.
My favorite sizes are 468x80 banners and 125x125 (or smaller buttons). Odd-sized banners have a use for me too.
I like how Fister just pops in every couple of months with a stint of posting just to let us know he's still around. Good to see you again, F.

468 by 60 is what I except. I don't care what the file size is. As long as it fits into my template. Most sites I have seen use 468 by 60.
