Well as a horticulturist I think I would be the ideal candidate if you were willing to pay my airfare
It would be a nice holiday away from AUS.

Greetings:
Apparently you don't have the abundance of illegal immigrants over there in Daytona like we have over here in Orlando?
You know we actually spoke about this over dinner this evening with the family LOLOriginally Posted by JustMe
We're absolutely positive that we do have an abundance of them the problem is, non of us know where to find them LOL

But, Allan... there are conditions that we'd expect of you. I don't think your girlfriend would approve :wtf: heheheheOriginally Posted by ozmalegalleries
Frig the garden Jim... you and Toby should just come for a visit LOL
See I love planting and potting and playing in the dirt. It's genetic. My dad and grandmother can make the most beautiful gardens rise from nothing. We used to joke if we saw something spring up through a crack in the sidewalk outside of babice's (polish for grandma) apartment that she was growing wild flowers. And my dad has the same green thumb... whatever he touches in the garden is beautiful.
I can do it too but spending tens years sitting in front of a PC makes digging holes in the garden the equivalent of bench pressing 500lbs LOL Hopefully by the time all is in place, we'll have a beautiful backyard and I'll leave 100lbs behind!

Chucklin ... you mean to tell me you can't get this done in one hour?? Wow, to think I've been misled by all those gardening makeover shows on TV.
Seriously though, I remember when I first moved here, and there wasn't any yard to really speak of. Basically it was nothing more than crab grass surrounded by huge patches of bare ground. It was infested with earwigs and grubs and snails. It only took about 7 years, but it's now one of the nicest gardens in the area. I did a lot of plantings that would come up yearly, with areas reserved for annuals, so there's always something to see from Spring thru late fall. There's several varieties of roses, english ivy on the privacy fence, hostas, aromatic herbals, wisteria, forsythia, honeysuckles, a butterfly bush, tulips, daffodiles, and clusters of wild and domestic day lilies. I still can't seem to get grass into one area heavily shaded by trees all summer, short of cutting down some trees, I guess it'll just stay sparse. Even special shade grass seed didn't make it past a month or so before giving up.
It's a lot of work ... but when you're sitting on the deck with that cold ice tea in your hand and steaks sizzlin on the grill and you can watch as the wild birds play in your fountain and butterflys float by like small colorful clouds, you'll be glad you got it done.

The sun was alot Bradley! Next few projects we're going to need to work on the off hours (early morning or dusk). I was out there for an hour, it just got to me so quickly.
The bed looks great, though! Lee did a great job.
AND, even with spf 3000 he's finally looks like he lives in FL and has come color.
Today feels like the same kind of day, so I'm staying here LOL
