As a canadian photographer, it seems like the new law may make it
difficult for me to sell content to US webmasters. is that your
interpretation (or your lawyer's?)? or will you continue to buy canadian
or other non US content?

The question though is going to be what does the US considered valid foreign government ID... most seem to say a passport, but these days passports ain't cheap and you need a reason too, least up here I believe... haven't verified that but post 911 passports were supposedly no longer just given out without some reason being needed on the application form.
So who is going to pay the model to get one? which also involves a passport photo, and secondly if a reason for getting one is needed, wonder what they'll say?
I can just see a hottie filling out the application now, blonde hair twisted around a cute ear lobe, his brow furled as he tries to explain he needs for a photo shoot but doesn't want to say adult, all the time his dick is stretching his nice tight white jeans as he thinks about the money he'll make and the other hot guy he will suck... yep.. gonna be real interesting... think I'll go book a seat in the front row of the local post office to watch the fun.. :extat:

I beleive they did say in the new regs that any foreign government issued id with a picture is an acceptable form of id for 2257 purposes.

Yeah well they used to say provincial drivers licenses were fine to cross into the USA too, now it seems they want passports which is the only photo ID (short of a military id) that the federal government issues... so I don't know... seems like its passports... but me no lawyer.. thankfully... least being a webmaster I can get an hours snooze time, unlike lawyers right now.. :goofy:

Hey ... I'm a Canadian, if you got gay content for sale, let me see it.
And yes, the U.S. government is going to require passports (or is proposing such) to cross the border into the U.S. from Canada. But that's a different department and issue than 2257. The 2257 regs clearly said that foreign producers could use parallel documentation as available in their country and it did not have to be a passport.
