Banners and 2257

If there is hardcore images on the banners they have to have a link to 2257 docs from my understanding. I am little confused on banners. Can I put a star in front of the hardcore part on banners or do they have to be redone so they are non x rated? Thanks for your help.

Nope..no stars or "blacked out" areas allowed.
If you use hard core material..2257 applies and cannot be cropped or altered in any way to avoid compliance.
