No point in launching a new paysite if your affiliates dont make any money from it.

Well, unless I'm missing something, there's no legitimate reason why Sponsor A couldn't pay said affiliate for the traffic that converted on the test site. Or get permission from the affiliate to experiment with the traffic sent. In my book, that would be the ethical way to handle such a situation.
