Spamming of any kind is bad business and much like the way that some companies ruined xTube by flooding it with thousands of 30-second redundant clips, they're eventually going to ruin everything for everyone.
I can see laws in the future about no advertising for porn being thrown about because of it.
You know.. OK.. so I was asked to advertise on Gay.com including a banner in the chat room. I checked out the chat room and there were about 20 names on the list but NO chatting at all. I posted something like "Wow.. talkative bunch" and I suddenly got about 20 PMs pop up... all of which said
"you seem like a cool person. I'd like to get to know you better. I don't know much about this site but I have a profile over at www.7iuwhswfus.com with hot pictures of me."
Which of course meant that there were zero people in the chat room and nothing but bots. So I was paying to advertize to Data, C3P0 and Twiki.

pretty annoying, and I'm sure that some lawyer would be able to make some argument that advertising porn is dangerous just like cigarettes and we'll all be fucked.
But of course, just like with xTube, nobody cared until it was too late and then they just moved on to another low-effort way to gain customers.
