Hello everyone.
Looking for a good adult hosting company that is NOT in the USA. I am basically not happy with the way the USA goverment is attacking porn in the U.S. I am looking for dedicated hosting, good tech support, windows machines, and upto a 100 MB connection unmetered.

2257 is very specific. it applies to were you are - not where you work, not where you host, not where you keep a p.o. box or what your whois address is.

at the moment, as i understand it it DOES protect you from 2257 requirements to be a non u.s. citizen who works exclusively outside the u.s. i mean, sure, that could change, but as of right now, that's my understanding.

Regardless of which server location you select, Chilihost is the way to go!
There are a lot of programs based entirely outside the US (meaning staff, owners, content production, servers, etc). but still comply with 2257 recordkeeping requirements so that US-based affiliates can promote the programs.
This will get harder when 4472 goes into force (or whatever parts of it stick). But as everyone else has said, unless you're prepared to move your entire company (and this means you, your content production, where the checks go and the banking is done, all of it) don't count on having your servers hosted offshore to be a means of avoiding 2257 compliance.
US law "counts" if you sell your product to persons in the US. It doesn't matter if your product is porn, bananas, or grand pianos--your product is required to comply with the local laws where it is sold.Quote:

thanks for the referral guys! Yup, its true that if your primary place of business is in the USA, offshore hosting does not protect you from 2257 prosecution - but it certainly does stop the DOJ walking into your datacenter with a demand to pull the plug on your server. And of course, if your primary place of business and hosting are outside of the USA then you don't have to stress so much as those that are within the DOJ's grasp! (not a legal opinion, just my 2 cents!)
