Close down your sites like the initial 2257 proposals did?
I know a few people closed sites down when the initial 2257 proposals came through, i just wondered, now it appears non-nude sexual content also requires 2257 docs, is anyone planning on closing any sites down?

Don't be so cocky! Being outside the USA didn't help the online betting people much! Don't think that just because you or your business reside outside the USA that these laws won't effect you.
If you use ANY USA based or controlled resources you may have liability. Remember, the USA could easily implement blocking for outside sites that do not comply with USA laws. All it would take is for the DOJ to threaten the ISPs and your sites would be blocked from access to USA users!
These rulings will effect everyone in the adult industry one way or another.

I make content for a few mobile phone content sites out there and they are non nude sites as such but, I have always got models to sign the forms, give me proper ID even though they are not going to have sex on cam or show their bits. Am I ever glad I did that from the begining. The way things change all the time with these laws you can never take anything for granted I reckon. :high:

Does anyone here think that sponsors and affiliates should be preparing together for the eventuality that records will need to be kept by secondary producers, i.e. affiliates?
Responsible sponsors started preparing back in june of '05 when the new regulations went into effect requiring affiliates to keep records. (the secondary producer requirement in 4472/2257a is not new, the government has been claiming that secondary producers are responsible for recordkeeping since the original regs were published in May of '05.
Anyone who has done nothing in the intervening time is simply not being responsible about their business.
Many sponsors, including us, increased the number of hosted ad tools they offered to avoid the whole 2257 thing, and made it clear they would not provide 2257 records to affiliates.
Other sponsors prepared record sets for affiliates, and a few companies are trying to cash in with 2257 secondary records software solutions.
I really think you are mis-reading what I said. We fully comply with 2257 and will be fully compliant with any new regs. Its just that changes like these make for instability - and instability always makes it hard on business as you just don't know whats coming up around the corner. How crazy was it after 2257 was passed and no one really knew what the laws meant until audits were done and courts were challenged, how is it easy to be running a business with that kind of uncertainty??? Being located out of the USA makes business and life easier, cuz one things for sure, you always have more time to adjust and see what the results are of these initial USA-based business enforcements, plus you get the comfort of knowing an audit is extremely unlikely if not impossible.Quote:
