Last month was up and down and all over the place. But this month has been really good for us. We are doing bonus Fridays this month we has made traffic picked up. This will actually be a record month for payouts. We use NetBilling, Paycom and CCBill for credit card processing. NetBilling is our first cascade and we get to scrub our own transactions. Our scrub has been very minimal since we started with them so ratios are always better for us with NetBilling in our first cascade.
As for other sponsors we are using November has also been really good. You might want to change up your pages, sponsors a bit to see if you could maybe get the rest of the month better. :)

I dont mean to counter your experience Intensecash, but across everything we push and our own two programs the past two weeks have been quite a bit below average. Straight and Gay.. That usually means a really good period is coming to even it all out...hopefully.
We are paying $100/sale this Sunday, November 19th for all sales to PrideMov and GayDownloadPass..maybe this will be the day things pick up..It always does!
Im having a very sucky period.
sales are down for us for our own site and the other sites we push.
same here guys. Traffics actually up but sales are way down. Seems early for the holiday slowdown but perhaps that's the reason.
Funny the only site doing well for me is broke straight boys so yeah your right Mark you guys are doing well:)
Broke Straights Boys isnt working for me right now but then i still have a great ratio, just no where what i did have.
Mid-November has always been the start of the Christmas slowdown period for many webmasters and as we're in mid-November im guessing that is whats being experienced.
Sales were well down for Condom Cash in the last week however today there does appear to have been a positive spike in sales so hopefully we're going to see some improvement until the 2nd/3rd week in December which is when the holiday drop occurs at its worst.
I actually just got my first sale to Gay Christmas Porn today also so im looking forward to seeing how that site does over the coming few weeks, its actually had its first sale a lot sooner than i thought it would so im happy right now LOL
Regards,
Lee
Sometimes we will have an off day and I'll hit the boards looking for reports of problems. I hope that its a scrub at the processors or something. If that doesn't pan out then I pour over the stats in Google Analytics, test out sponsors sites, look for lag... everything I can think of. It seems that 9 times out of 10 though I usually come up empty handed in trying to figure out why sales are down. Moreover, someone will pipe up in my search saying that sales are great. For the most part... I've just decided there is a lot of mystery in the mix. So on those days I just write it off and let go.
With that said, yesterday actually broke our record for $ on a single day and was in the top 5% as far as quantity of sales sent out. October was a record breaking month for us, but according to our Stats Remote estimates we will beat that by about 3K here in November. I'm knocking on wood.
As an aside, Mark... I've definitly seen a pick up in conversions with you guys since you added netbilling as your primary. I was looking over our sales with you this month after seeing your post above and it's looking nice. Whatever you are doing over there sure seems to work :)
Wow that is awesome you guys did so well in October. I heard from alot of people that sales were slow or up and down etc. Our October was all over the place. Good luck on beating it in November. :)
I'm glad you are happy with our conversions. We love NetBilling, they have been phenomenal for us. :)
Mark
Sales are great so far this month, however it seems that the sales with my best sponsors go down. The sponsors are converting not that well normally show great stats !
I don't try to understand why sales are sometimes better or worse. I just accept it, as I can't figure out why there can be such differences.
Sales haven't been great for my traffic but affiliate sales are going good. My site has changed greatly from the prior version. I'm seeing the conversions of amateur/review/conventional traffic converting better now than the bear/cub traffic.
I was doing well in sales until October 15, slower since then.
Mercury's been in retrograde for most of the month, just fell back to normal last night.
My sales always suck in retrograde periods.
Michael
Things will pick up this week..they always do!
My Sales were great in october, accross the board!
The first week of november was also very good, however since then things have been up and down. Huge sales on day, low the next, ect.
I think it could be a lot to do with the holiday season.
I was thinking about other factors too. I wondered if most Americans get paid at the end of the month? Put that together with buys stuff for Christmas and people will have much less money towards the end of the month? Hopefully we will have a good firts two weeks in December!
When the does the Holiday effect fizzle out?
Lee.. i see what you mean about needing alot more sales than what you think you need to live no before quitting the day job!
The weekend after Memorial Day was my best ever. Top revenue for a single day. Otherwise, November is pretty much average, not seeing any major changes really.
the average for this month is a little bit low in sales, but yesterday was my best day in years,
internet is crazy ;-)
So far this month has sucked for us also. Maybe because people are doing their x-mas shopping.
We seem to be doing OK. Perhaps being in such a niche we dont ever seem to get the flux of traffic that everyone else is mentioning. We seem to be really steady with the number of new sales...and of course our recurring is always good.
The only time I ever notice even a slight slowdown is in July. Which I blame on Apple Pie. Dont ask why.
I just launched a new site and sales have been off the charts .
I think November is going to be my best November in 4 yrs, but I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that I don't get these up/downs a few of you have been talking about.
If you are currently down....don't worry too much it'll pick up again, it always does :luke:
most people i know get paid weekly or twice a month.
don't forget thanksgiving - it's a family holiday and money is spent as well as some people getting an unpaid day off on friday. also something else a lot of u.s. folks have to budget for is an unpaid week off between christmas and new years.
Northstar! Haven't seen that guy in a while. The super-hero I mean, not the webmaster
October was ok for me. But now in November, I am still under average. I also think it is because of the coming christmas season. I can not compare it with last year, because there were pretty much new sites to promote and new sites always convert at the beginning well.
But for sure sales will become better very soon. That it what I know from all the last years.
Summer sucked for us. I think that when guys are paying $100 to put gas in their cars a lot of their expendable incomes vanished.
When gas prices started to drop before the elections, sales started picking back up.
Did anybody notice that the price of gas started going up THE DAY AFTER THE ELECTION and have gotten up on average 2 to 3 cents a gallon a day since.
Anyone that thinks those F***ing Republicans weren't controlling the price of gas are crazy. The who damn thing was, and is, contrived. As long as our current jerk is in the white house and as long as his family continues to derive a large portion of their income from oil and as long as they remain friends of Saudi Arabia......we are in for a rough next two years.
Back to the sales question......the holidays have always been a good period for us and sales started to pick up this month and should continue thru the holidays.
Bill
Sales still very bad for me. Haven't picked up this week at all.
If it doesn't get better after Thanksgiving I'll have to find full time job.
Here here....November started out strong for me traffic & sales, but the past week and a half has seen a complete drop in both....Grrrr...Where are the porn addicts?!!:fucked:
Sales are down for me as well since November 17th. First two weeks were awesome. Now sales are less than 50% of the usual.
Maybe we should give away a free gallon of gas at every 5th sale :)
This is Dave walking into room with cap in hand.....
WTF happened?
Since my post above (karma's a bitch huh!) Sales seemed to switch off accross the board.....my own sites & my sponsor links have been hit with almost a 40% drop in sales...I tell you if the last two days are anything to go by, this will just end up being a very average month.
Traffic hasn't dropped, I'm wondering if VISA has done something to processors even?
Anyway, thanks for allowing me to join the group....
"Hello my name's Dave and I'm a suffering Webmaster"
:uhoh:
.
We send out hundreds and hundreds of thousands of uniques to affiliates each month which I think kind of gives a macro view of the gay affiliate side of the business. I was trying to think of a way to share my data without giving out anything propriatary. So what I'm left with is something that I'm not sure will help anyone of you or not but I thought I would try to share with you the trending we have experienced this year.
Jan 1:156
Feb 1:156 - Traffic -1.13%
Mar 1:211 - Traffic +74.74%
Apr 1:197 - Traffic +5.97%
May 1:154 - Traffic +11.98%
Jun 1:184 - Traffic -5.86%
Jul 1:168 - Traffic -4.56%
Aug 1:176 - Traffic +.28%
Sep 1:166 - Traffic -1.3%
Oct 1:165 - Traffic +11%
Nov 1:165 - Traffic +7.23%
There is some flucuation in conversions, but not a lot. Conversions in Sept through today is about as consistent as you can get and traffic is up.
You can see there was a bit of a summer slowdown in June and July as far as traffic is concerned, but not enough to offset the gains in April and May.
September was off but part of that small decrease is because it has 1 less day then the month before it. November, on the other hand, has 1 less day than October, but based on the month so far I'm still expecting a gain of 7.23% over October.
Like I said, I'm not sure if this really helps anyone out there or not, but I think it shows that while traffic flucuates, the conversions (especially in these last few months) are amazingly consistent. Traffic is also picking up going into the winter which is consistent with my data going all the way back to 1998. We have always done better as it gets cold outside and the days get shorter in the Northern hemisphere. I hope that if I were to share data at the end of January it would continue to reflect that this coming year as well.
We send hits to over 150 different programs so its a wide mix of billers and types of content. That's why I think of it as a kind of macro view of things... at least on the gay side of the equation. Then again, maybe there are so many other factors that might numbers really don't mean anything to someone else. Anyway, I hope someone can get something useful out of this.
Firstly thanks for sharing, you are right, your humongous traffic base does 'even' things out for you to easily be able to see an overall trend which helps us with smaller traffic to feel at ease.
I was right there with you expecting that nice rise, as I had mentioned in my earlier post, but if I see too many more days like the last two over the next 9 days, it could easily wipe out the early lead I got in the first 2 1/2 weeks of the month.
Again thanks for sharing, with that said I'm off to post some more tgp's :)
Cheers
Dave
Is CCbill even online today? :(
Thankfully my #1 sponsor has switched over to Segay and Epoch and they seem to be processing just fine. :D
bit below normal here for a week - not too worried yet though.
DVD sales for the last 6 weeks have been the worst in 4 years. Traffic still up though.
