We aren't so far away from downtown. It's only about a 10-15 minute drive to downtown. So I think we get the worst of both worlds here. We aren't urban enough to warrant a high concentration of patrols. But we are in the the city of Dallas so we get the lousy services that comes with the poor tax base of the city.

If it wasn't for the dogs, we'd live in a more urban setting. When I first relocated here from Minnesota, I had to buy a house just so my dog could have a little yard. Lol.

I have 2 dogs, though they are very small, I still hate having them in an apartment... besides the fact that I HATE taking them out 4-5 times a day, I really don't think it is fair to them. I live on a 3rd floor and my smallest dog is only 4 pounds and can get through the rails, so cannot go on my patio to get fresh air.

As far as patrol, maybe that is what helps. It seems ever 10 minutes a cop drives by my place, so that could be keeping the crime down.. could be! lol

Okay lets get back on topic...lol... so yeah, in Dallas you can get anything from a 50k double wide with 4 bedrooms, to a home with 4 bedrooms plus 3 living areas, a media room, and a library for 1+ million

Well I would not advise anyone to buy a house in Dallas not even North Dallas, you want to live in the suburbs and drive to Dallas. Plano, or even Frisco would be at the top of my list.

(for those who do not know Harry Hines is known for prostitution and has ever sense I can remember)
