I think both words, ass and butt, are perfectly fine to use. Ocassionally one word works better then the other depending on the context. Sometimes I'm unsure what word to use so I just go with the one that roll off of my tongue the easiest. Lol, that last line was not meant to be suggestive in any way.

When it comes to text or sex talk though it all depends on the context or my mood. Subtle nuances I guess.
Personally, I've always thought "ass" was hotter, and "butt" was more polite.

Oh, and there's the lovely term I heard on one of those janky $5 DVD compilations put out by a straight company that had no idea how to market gay... they had a commercial for some 900 number in between scenes that had the model saying "I'm just dying to have your hot cock in my turdbox" or something close to that. "Turdbox" became a running joke on one of our recent shoots, all the models latched onto the term.
