As ive said on GMS - post the url where that who is info was gained.
That is part of an advert, probably using keywords to put my name next to his. You know how you did that so stop lying and making out youve got something.

Marc - Try as you may but the whois is a simple whois search - Public access and can be pulled up by anyone who knows how to type in a domain.
The source for the "ad" as you call it - I listed the domain.
No my name appears next to his in the advert at the bottom for outsource unix projects. NO WHERE IN THE ACTUAL WHO IS RECORD.
So again, post the url where you performed that search. Let me see the results. Let everyone. POST IT.

WTF?? My old Webdesign company - is listed on that page AMONGST MANY OTHER LISTINGS. So is one on the same page as the name reece dylan.

FYI it's a red flag when:
1) Someone who posts quite a lot gets defensive when you ask who they work with
2) When you find out they work with the previous/current partner of a convicted con artist
3) When someone refuses to list all their working domains, or most at least ;)
4) When you Google someones name with the name of a con artist and they both come up on the same page

I used to own a design company and had a program that failed topshelfdollars.com and have had some sites that have failed like coverboyz.com. I use different names on different boards because --fill in the blank-- I used to own Bamboozled Media and don't go under that business name anymore because --fill in the blank---" etc etc.
When people aren't just upfront and open about who they are in a business environment people start to question who they are, what they're about, etc. No big deal
That is a LOT of companies
To be fair, markjacob aka Simon is one of our affiliates and I think we were one of the first sites he promoted. We've never had any problems with him, he sent good traffic and was easy to work with.
I know he's also said that adult is a semi-hobby growing into a full time thing for him, and he's asked for (and received) help over time to refine his traffic, so if he had projects that have failed, it's probably because he was learning about the industry.
I don't know Simon well other than the few IM convos we've had, but I don't have any reason to believe he's unethical or dishonest or anything remotely related to the sort of behaviors we've seen from Reece aka Scott.
I'm all in favor of pointing out scammers, but I also think we need to be careful before we go trashing people because of very tenuous connections.
If more information comes to light that paints a different picture, then that's a different story, but for now, I don't see much that indicates any problems with Simon Meech.
Simon Meech owned a porn site program in 2003 called topshelfdollars.com so assuming he didn't whip up the program and it's sites up overnight, he was at least working in adult since 2002, that's the same amount of time your sites have been active Chip. He's not new to the industry ;) Mind you I haven't spent a lot of time on research this is just quick Google stuff.Quote:

Didn't know that Simon had been in the industry for 4 years. I was of the impression he was new... guess that's my bad, didn't do any research.
I wasn't actually speaking of the comments you were making when I was talking about trashing people, more the posting of the whois thing with the ad at the bottom that turned out to be a page with about 100 people on it, two of which happened to be Simon and Reece.
I agree that, particularly in an industry where we do much of our interactions online without meeting anyone in person, and where a lot of what we know about someone is mostly limited to what they tell us (which may or may not be true, and may or may not leave out material facts) then it's very reasonable to do research and find out what there is to find out.
All I ask is before we associate someone with someone else who has a terrible reputation, that we make sure the connection is real.
Our previous DVD distributor also distributed for a studio that had a pretty shady reputation. We never met the guy who owned the other studio, never talked to him or did business with him, and knew only what we'd heard from various sources. I just wouldn't want someone trashing us because we happened to be distributed by the same distributor as a company many considered shady, and I felt like what IdolKnights said (which he did acknowlege wasn't much of a connection) was akin to that, and I wouldn't want anyone doing that to me.

It's upsetting you defend a scammer on here who stole some of our content and put it in his members area. That raised a red flag with me and I wanted to know more about who you are.
It's not an attack when people in the industry want to know who you are and what your past history is.
I have answered everyone of these points in various other threads - on this topic and not on this topic. The information is scattered all over this board and gms.
