You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Well i was given a 'budget' for my present this year so i can pretty much do with it what i like haha

We actually rode around yesterday starting at Office Depot and ending up at Circuit City [shudder] looking at different laptop solutions and of the 3 i liked, that one above is just not practicle (to bulky and awkward to hold) so it doesnt look like ill be getting that after all, the idea of it is nice but im looking for something i can use, comfortably.

Im still san present also because of the other 2 i liked, neither of them were in stock so im going to have to wait until Tuesday, when im probably going to end up getting the white vaio i posted about in that thread a day or two back

    Regards,

    Lee

Did you find something to fit your needs? If not, lmk. I have one that I used before I got my phone pda that I don't want anymore. It's a sony clie PEG-TG50 or something like that. I have the box, all cables, cradle, and the compact folding keyboard. It's in perfect condition. If you want it, just lmk. I can post pics later too if you want.

I didn't have any problems with it at all. I'm not much taller than you either

I used to use it mainly for taking notes either from phone calls, meetings, etc.

Well, the truth is that one of my responsibilities at the moment is to spam boards (only spam sections), but as you know from FW I have a rather unique attitude towards spam, I see the value in it. That's one of the reasons I was chosen for the task.

But that's not the only reason I'm here, just the reason I came across the board in the first place. I do plan to visit the board and make decent posts, as I have tried to do tonight.

Just to keep this on topic, I use a very simple PDA, a Palm Z22. I think it's the bottom of the range but it does what I need it to. Doesn't have a keyboard or anything fancy but I can set up calendar stuff and write notes, and that's really all I need.

    audiovox 6700

We started out with one..audiovox 6700 (verizon) and now most of our staff use one.

It is a little "large" but we can SSH into servers, it has the largest screen of most PDA/Phones, answer support issues with kayako, use verizon high speed and connnect the phone to be used as a modem to a laptop via USB..and it is also a phone.

Sure, not the best phone and not the best PDA but together we can handle 99% of server and support issues.

Of course, Verizon stopped selling them but you can still get one via EBAY or other places. A new 6800 is suppose to come out soon.

Here are the pics. Offer me what you think is fair. Like I said I don't use it anymore so someone else might as well take it over

What's the verdict on the PDA? Should I pack it up and ship it off or put it back in my desk? It's getting in my way on my desk LOL

    2 quick questions -

    what keyboard is that?

were you able to synch the pda with your computer easily using the provided software or did you have to buy software?

    thanks!

Bloody hell, you've got me wanting a new pda now *shakes fist at the air*

Seriously, I want to be able to go to a cafe and write stories. I find watching people in a voyeuristic way helps me get creative.

The keyboard is Clie Gear bought specifically for the PDA. Syncing was very easy. I didn't have any problems or need any special software.

I LOVE my XV6700! Ditto to everything Steven says. I can pretty much run my biz from this phone if I have to. Shoot content with the cam, upload through FTP, log on through SSH, etc. I've even got a guitar tuner installed. It slides open to reveal a nice size keyboard, much better then the PALM buttons, which IMO are WAY to small when you've got thumbs like mine.

$600 seems like a lot for a phone, but it's a lot more then a phone. I haven't checked out the iphone yet, but it seems to me the XV6700 has many of the same features. WiFi, Bluetooth, touchscreen, etc.

I know that Cingular and Sprint also have pretty much the same phone available under a different name.
