You will totally dig it. Everything there tastes so good. Their shitake mushroom inari (in brown rice, not white) is fuckin' incredible. They have all these cool bento boxes to go as well. I could eat there every day of my life and probably never get tired of it. It's amazing what you can do with tofu, seitan and tempeh.

so, folks - here's the question: shall we just do el coyote or should we consider other venues like french market (where we could probably arrange the upstairs all to ourselves)? not sure if french market has chad's necessary red meat, however. anyone know?

Actually, we had one of our lunches a few years ago at the French Market and it went really well. That was the first time I had met Andy Mike face to face. That little gazebo in the middle might be perfect.
