longboardjim, that usb turntable boasts that it has a setting where you can do just that and the software that comes with it will reduce the signal back to the proper one, but I would think it would cause a serious degredation in sound quality.

I paid a service to do a bunch of my records to mp3, they charged me $50, which I thought was a great price, and the sound quality was for shit. I was so upset. Luckily they gave me my money back but it was unreal how bad the sound was. And to top it off when I talked to the customer service guy he could tell what was wrong with it. He said the tracks sounded fine. He even did four different EQ jobs and sent me the raw file and they all sounded like someone had taped them with a hand held dictophone from across the room. It was awful.
