We put up a new tour at one point and for a short period it didn't have a 2257 statement on it.
I got several emails from people saying they wanted to join, but didn't see the notice that the models were 18 and wanted to know if the site was legal. So I think that at least some porn buyers (maybe more those who look at twink content) are conscious of the legality issue and want to stay on the right side of the law.
The other thing is, a really savvy surfer can look at the 2257 notice and tell whether the content is original and unique, or purchased from other providers. We've had a handful of customers that seemed aware of using the 2257 for that purpose, so it might be that people were looking at the notice for that purpose as well.
