How Do You Know You Have Failed In The Gay Industry?

I've been to a couple of the GFY Sacramento-area get togethers in the past year or so. AJ and I were the only poofters there. The GFY straight gang (and all of the Adult/Playboy people who were there) were friendly and inviting, and they all knew of BoyAlley and were amused and showed admiration for his marketing style.

Yes, it's a little over the top, but I see it as done in fun, as a way of trying to "shake up" the gfy community, which sometimes tends to be homophobic. I have to respectfully disagree with those who have said that he's been harmful to the gay community or gay webmasters... on the contrary, I think he's demonstrated that it's OK to not take yourself too seriously, gain the respect and begrudging admiration of straight, sometimes homophobic webmasters, and have fun at the same time.

I have no idea what JP's sites do or don't do, or whether there's a reason other than moving on to better things that he's selling. I do know that GWW's policies are supposed to support a community that is cooperative and doesn't make personal attacks at one another.

I respect Lee, and I respect JP, for different reasons. I realize that Lee's style is to stir up drama as a way of increasing page views and activity on the board, and as much as anyone might disagree with it, it works. I just wish the drama didn't have to be so negative toward someone that, from what I've seen, has been a "good guy" in the industry.

I completely agree with you Chip. GFY tends to be very homophobic and marketing on there is very tough. The way he promoted himself and gained respect from members of GFY was remarkable in my opinion. I think he is also admirable for getting webmasters to donate money to several charities. I think in a very short time he has accomplished a lot.

Regardless of what anyone here says, I suprisingly agree with Lee. JP is a person that continuely spouts bullshit.

I am not one of the types tospead rumours, or back-chatting people, but everyone mentioned in this post has done their fair share of trying to fuck me over, so im going do some fucking back.

DrBill, or David (www.ingayporn.com) used to chat to me on a regular bases, untill certain "happenings" last year ended our friendship.

DrBill used to be somewhat of a partner to JP on GMS, untill JP screwed him over due to a post David made, which i was told by David cost him a LOT of money, but sadly he has no legal claim to getting it back. When this fall-out happened, he told me something very interesting, that proves the fact JP is full of shit.

JP had boasted to me, and DrBill (making me realise i was not alone), and maybe a lot more people, that AlleyBucks used TERABYTES of bandwidth a week, and was making him money far behond his dreams..... Suprising for a person that said he "sold" all these companies for 10x the figures that were true, which would make him a major millionaire. (He told me once he was worth 12 million)

And yes, for the record i was banned from GayMainStreet.com .. I guess i didnt lie enough for him.

At the time, he was also hosting with a company who frequent this board,
(i will not mention names as i like this company)
who confirmed, that none of their clients used that much bandwidth.

So, from my own CCBILL account, and looking at how much bandwidth i used in a YEAR, in releation to my own sales, if he only makes 6 figures a year from alleybucks, either his sites convert at 1:30,000 .... or hes full of shit...
