Years ago I remember hearing that orange stimulates appetite, which is why in the 70's so many fast food restaurants used orange in their decor. Apparently orange made you want to eat, but didn't make you want to stick around.

I chose blue as my predominant color because blue is the color of communication.

Black seems to be a color used a lot for gay stuff, from nightclub interiors to bookstores & glory holes, to websites (odd, since we identify so strongly with the rainbow...). I tried black as my predominant color for my pages for about a year, but found it too depressing to work with, so I eventually chose a more colorful pallette with white as my canvas.

Here's some spiritual color psychology:

White/Violet/Gold: White represents all colors of light combined. Protection. Highest spirituality. Violet and Gold represent all elements. All 3 correspond with the crown chakra.

Indigo: Higher awareness, connection with spirit. Corresponds to the head chakra.

Blue: Communication. Corresponds with throat chakra. (hear that, all you cocksuckers? Y'all probably like having your throat chakra stimulated!)

Green: Prosperity, material wealth, love. Corresponds with heart chakra.

Yellow: Spiritual centering, energy. Corresponds to the solar plexus chakra.

Orange: Nurturing. Self-confidence. Corresponds to navel chakra.

Red: Survival. Fight-or-flight. Attention. Sexual heat. Corresponds to root chakra.

Brown: Represents earth, grounding.

Black: Absence of light. Void. Absolute neutrality.

According to my color-intuitive friend, colors tell more about you than you may know:
The colors you like best tell one about where you percieve your strengths to be. The colors you don't like indicate areas of your life that you need to work on.

Hope that helps add a bit more awareness!
