I completely disagree - I think that on the woman's side, by consenting to engage in sex with him, knowing the possible risks involved (pregnancy etc) that she enters into some sort of social contract that makes them equally responsible for what comes out of it. (both for decision making and financially)

Think about it this way, if she chose to keep it - she can hold him responsible to pay for it. So why can't he hold her into keeping it on the same grounds? They both new the possibilities and they still "entered into the contract" all the same.

Except that the father doesn't have to carry the baby for nine months. Big difference, Ryan.

As the only woman I see responding to this post, I am in total agreement with Ethan. It would be my choice and my choice period and I would never allow the government to make that decision for me. It's not to say I would not allow the father to participate in that decision.

I'm also not saying that I would run out and have an abortion either. I simply want to retain the right to make a final decision that will directly effect my body, my health, my life and the life I may or may not be able to provide for that child, as well as the circumstances that I became pregnant in the first place.

That's my thoughts on the matter!

Nobody likes abortion, even those who are pro-choice. It's not like people think, "Oh, if I forget to take my pill or use a condom, I can just run out and get an abortion."

Abortion is a necessary "evil."

I think that men should be allowed to participate in the debate for theological purposes, but they should have no right to enact laws regarding a woman's right to choose what happens to her body.

I want kids. I always have. If I was a guy who got a woman pregnant (Hey, it could happen!), I would be heartbroken if she had an abortion. And if she did not consult me in the matter, I would probably never speak to her again, because I do have a right to at least know about it and voice my opinion.

You know, as a man, i really shouldnt have ANY input on this whole abortion issue, in fact, no male should because it doesnt really affect us one way or the other, let the women decide, on their own, if they want to ban abortions or not.

Plenty, my friend. Homophobia and sexism go together like red beans and rice. Those who want to curtail women's reproductive rights are rarely friends to gays and lesbians either.
