Cars may be safe in the garage, but is the garage safe? Hail will damage tin and asphalt roofing, and if the hail is as big as you say it could actually puncture a weak roof. Do not forget the windows-- if hail is falling at an angle and not just straight down it can break windows on your house, damage trees. crops, and kittens. Because we always have to worry about the kittens!!!

I don't mind the monsoons here in Arizona. A little heat and a few intense thunderstorms seems a small price to pay for no blizzards, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, or locusts.
