Im disappointed in AVN

xxxwriter, frankly with all the self-righteous hypocritical pitter-patter that comes with your posts, the only credibility you had left, at least with me, was that AVN saw something in you to keep you as one of their journalist. I see AVN as a professional organization and i have not even been reading this board for very long but:

1. As a representative with AVN, you posted publicly about doing drugs at event shows that you were supposed to cover (its one thing to do them discretely, but what did you or avn gain from posting about it on a public board?)

2. This thread shows a serious lack of good judgment. Now everyone fucks up, even big-time like you did with your stupid post. But have some humility, eat crow, be happy I don’t run AVN, and listen to what lee said. Know that I would not have posted any of this if your last post did not just push me to that point.

Lee, I hadn't checked the board in two days, and I came back to find all the stuff that had been written. I didn't peruse the whole thread before I made my response, which was written in response to things that had been posted earlier on in the thread. I wasn't trying to bring anything back around. I was merely responding to what had already happened that I wasn't able to defend myself on. And by the way, the thread was still way up on the very first page of GWW when I signed on yesterday, which means that many other people had been bumping it before I posted. Thanx very much.

if you think there is a *chance* than you may post again in the thread, then dont say "this is my last word on the matter", just let it stand as your last word on the matter

Um, I'm not quite sure which posts you are referring to, but I assure you that there is a huge difference between smoking a little pot before heading off to a webmaster party AFTER all the day work is done and running off to the bathroom to snort a line before I go into a seminar that I have to write a story about, the latter of which I have never done.

As you have seen, I more than took responsiblity for my error in judgment. As I said, I felt--and still feel--awful for it. But while I'm certainly willing to take the knocks I have coming to me for that, I'm not going to sit back and let people trash me just because I messed up once. There's a difference between being humble and letting people walk all over you.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do, fella, but I can't help how you feel. You have to be responsible for your own feelings and words, just as I am fully responsible for mine. In the end, I can walk away from this knowing that I accepted that responsibility and made the necessary apologies to those it mattered to the most.

I'm perfectly happy to let this go. It's not something I'm particularly proud of. But if people attack me where it's simply not fair, I will always stand up for myself.

I also thought the reaction was a bit exaggerated seeing as how little damage was really done. I wondered for a moment if some people were just pumping in responses for the sake of the 200K post contest that was going on at the same time, or what.

But whatever. The topic should have been nixed 4 pages ago, IMO.
