I think the real motivation behind this thread is something close to what Brad said above. The "old boys" are scared of having to work harder to stay where they are. There always needs to be a new generation of webmaster or the industry will stagnate, simple.

I would be really interested to see someone from one of the larger companies post in this thread and hear their stand-point on this, as the people in this thread trying to run down newer webmasters both only run small CCBILL powered programs or sites.
