I would hazard the guess that a lot of gay guys, particularly twinks, are incredibly lazy, and more interested in partying, getting laid, etc., than actually doing the work necessary to promote themselves. The models that do post here are the ones that are actively involved in their businesses... Pierre and Skyler, for example, are both cultivating relationships, learning about the mechanics of a site, etc. Most of the others show up and post a few times and then disappear. And... quite frankly, I think that at least some of the models, even the ones with solo sites, aren't the brightest crayons in the box.

I also think that of the gay boards that actually get a fair amount of traffic, much of the discussion tends to be focused on business issues, technical issues, that sort of thing... where, by contrast, GFY is full of "would you hit it" and the like, so models can contribute more to the (worthless) threads there.

Skyler and I talk all the time, and he reads the boards, but one of his frustrations is that because he's still learning the business side of things, he doesn't feel like he has a whole lot to contribute to most of the threads. You'll notice that when there's a thread with something he does know about, he usually does contribute. I suspect that will change a lot as he learns more about the admin and business side of the industry.
