I am kind of ashamed of Congressmen that think they are fighting "drug abuse" by prohibiting needle-exchange programs. Maybe they are, since HIV is transmitted so easily over dirty needles and drug abusers rarely have access to health care, so they die and that really ends the drug abuse for THAT victim! Maybe they think if all the drug abusers die then there won't be any more drug abuse.

Then they want abstinence only sex un-education programs that don't work but prevent the distribution of condoms to sexually active people which might just reduce the transmission of HIV.

The Australians seem to have had no problem with needle exchange programs or providing condoms. Dammit I need to be president for just one term! OK, maybe 2.......
