Australia may have socialized medicine. However, it is a country with only 20 1/2 million people. That's just under the population of New York state. We have 281 million people, so implementing socialized medicine in the United States would be much more difficult.
See this is precisely why socialized medicine in America would work. currenlty 240 million Americans do have health insurance as only 40million are not insured. The infrastructure is already there to accommodate our population, it's not as if we're starting from scratch.

Being difficult isn't a reason not to do it. The healthier we are the more productive we are and the longer we can live being productive.
